The hanging and burning of the "Judas" Replica, symbolizes the punishment of Judas for his betrayal to Jesus.
It's a tradition that has been going on for generations, and takes place on Easter Sunday noon. Over the years, it was
given a second meaning, the people's symbolic punishment, for social events that had a great impact, on the Greek people.
In most cases, the "theme" changes, from year to year, and always depending, on any significant event, that brought social
turmoil. For example, last year's theme was, the scandal that involved corrupt Greek Gomernment Officials and corrupt high ranking
Greek Priests, in illegitimate handling, of Greek Church land and properties. This year's "theme", is the "betrayal" of our European Partner,
the German Government and Mrs Merkel's "attack" on Greece, in the recent financial affairs, along with the insult of the German FOCUS magazine!!!
